Happy Monday
I enjoyed the fabric fair on Saturday - the whole stash up there set me back about $20. Looking at the picture, my inner magpie was obviously drawn to stripes, spots, ric-rac and blue and green that day. Most of the cotton pieces are over 1 metre and a couple of them are over 2 metres. I really like the white and red floral - a skirt for next summer perhaps?
Despite my big crafting plans for the school holidays, I've not managed to achieve much in the first week. I caught a nasty head cold last week (just after I'd gotten over the last one), and I didn't feel like doing a whole lot of anything for a few days. I've also been working on a couple of wholesale orders of bibs and tshirts for some shops in the South Island (exciting - somehow selling in shops seems much more glamorous than selling online!), so my personal crafting has been put on hold.
I have managed to fulfill one of my aims for the holidays though - running every day. I'm planning to run a 10km event in June and am way out of practice. The holidays seemed like a good time to kickstart my training. I really questioned my sanity this morning though, when I was out running in the rain, in a strong southerly...

ohhh the gingham with the blue flowers from me !! stink I did not recognise you as I have been reading your blog from the start. It was such a fab atmosphere.
You have some really pretty fabrics there! It's almost par-for-the-course that teachers get sick in the first week of the school holidays. I know we push ourselves to the limit, just hanging out for the break and then, whammo. Hope you feel better now and have a great second week.
Great haul!
I've got some fabric like your red floral in brown - it dates from the 60's - so a real retro piece there.
Have fabric envy.
I think that floral fabric will make a lovely skirt :) Its a shame summer is a long long way away, I know what you mean about the awful weather this morning - I applaud you for keeping up with the running in it though!! :)
Stripes and spots! My faaavourite.
good work on the running!! I'm trying running again, too. Well done getting out there this morning!!
Nice haul! I particularly love the fabric with the red flowers.
Oh, and the blue spotty fabric with flowers on is mine! Delighted you got some good bargains - the event was my baby... but it was so hard not to come away with tons of fabric - I resisted - but knew I'd regret it afterwards! Got $10 worth of fabric - some great pieces from the lady outside that seemed to have just emptied her fabric bins onto the ground?! Will let you know when I'm doing it again.
