Thrifty Goodness

Here are some lovely finds I made at the local op-shop last week. Three tray cloths, a ladies handkerchief and a tablecloth. All lovingly hand embroidered. Not sure what I'll do with them yet. I don't know if I have the courage to cut them up. But they were calling to me in the op-shop and I couldn't just leave them there....

The tree with the purple flowres is just lovely! I think I will be getting an embroidery book out of the library next time I go! I recently cut into some "finds"- for me it is not quite as hard, because I can quite honestly say to my self- "Jessicah, are you ever really going to use that as a tea tray!" (Pretty hard being as tea trays in our house = 0. I like that they can be enjoyed in so many ways when you cut into them too!

wow- great finds! i agree with jessicah- it is a bit sad cutting into the linen, but if you know they would sit in a drawer unnoticed otherwise, it's great to give them a new lease on life. (my justification, anyway.) can't wait to see what you do with them!
